Taylor Freeman, PhD, LMFT, LPC
Taylor Freeman is a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Somatic EMDR Practitioner. In addition, Taylor is also a Certified Meditation Teacher and a Certified Yoga Instructor. Taylor specializes in working with teens/adolescents, young adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds.
Taylor's approach to therapy is strengths oriented. She believes each of us possess the inner strength and resiliency required to overcome any obstacle. During therapy, Taylor works collaboratively with her clients in order to facilitate a deeper understanding of the thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that contribute to distress. Grounded in person-centered, attachment-based, and post-modern theories of practice, as well as a trauma-informed approach, Taylor helps her clients reach their goals by reducing symptoms and integrating insight.
Taylor received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University (with a specialization in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy) where she received the Annette Caldwell Simmons Dean's Award for "Outstanding Student in Counseling." In addition, Taylor received a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Texas Woman's University. Taylor also holds a 200hr Yoga Instructor Certification and a 200hr Meditation Teacher Certification.

A note from Taylor:

The therapeutic services I provide reflect my firm belief in the fortitude of the human spirit. I view therapy as a collaborative process that unfolds over time. My role in the therapeutic process is to facilitate a safe and supportive space in which you feel accepted, honored, and capable. You can expect me to engage with you in a manner that is genuine, affirming, accepting, and consistent.
Some challenges are inherently more complex than others. And, despite our best efforts to cope, some challenges require parts of us to adapt or change. Therapy is meant for such times.
I personally believe that the act of seeking therapeutic services is a reflection of inner strength, hope and courage. And, even if you don't feel many of those things right now, the very fact that you are reading this reflects the fortitude of your spirit. I would like to salute you for your bravery and thank you for being here. Let the journey continue. Talk soon.
